Best Thoughts - Technique Card

This was another of the Technique cards we created in class this month.

It uses a Technique for the background called 'Smack Down' :o) .... Even the name sounds like fun!

There are several variations of this Technique around but we did the following ......

Using the beautiful flower stamp from the Best Thoughts Hostess stamp set and Soft Sky ink you stamp down onto the card as normal.

You then repeatedly stamp (without re-inking) just moving the stamp slightly each time around the first impression - until there is no ink left on the stamp. You then re-ink and repeat until your mat is covered.

We then sponged Soft Sky ink all over the mat to cover any white space before repeating the stamping again .... this time with Lost Lagoon ink.

We finished off by stamping (as normal) with Island Indigo ink.

It's a fun Technique that is super simple to do and produces lovely, interesting backgrounds :o)

The main image was watercoloured using the Aqua Painter and ink pads.

Square Pillow Box - with Go Wild

I have a very quick and simple project to share with you today :o)

Did you know that the Square Pillow Box Die will be leaving us soon? It's now only available while stocks last!

You can see all the other products that are on the Autumn / Winter Retirement List by clicking on the Photo in my right hand sidebar.

I am really sad that we will be losing this lovely, versatile box ..... BUT very excited now that I have seen all the new products soon to be with us in the Spring / Summer catalogue due out early in the new year :o)

For these boxes, I used some of the Go Wild 6" x 6" DSP stack. One of the things that I love about these papers is that on one side you have really bold, beautiful prints but on the other side you have much more muted ones. So you can use them for just about anything at all :o)

I used the You're So Sweet stamp set to decorate the boxes :o)

Wondrous Wreath - with Curvy Corner Trio Punch

Did you know that some of our Christmas Stamps from last year are still available? You will find them displayed in the Annual Catalogue from page 67.

I love the Wondrous Wreath set and matching Wreath Framelits! The Wreath is created in three steps.

I inked up with Garden Green to start with and stamped 'off' first. My next layer was with Mossy Meadow and I finished off with Cherry Cobbler Berries.

The background was stamped using White Craft ink and a stamp from the Holly Jolly Greetings stamp set.

Isn't the sentiment mat pretty? I cut a strip of Vanilla card 3.1cm deep and just punched the corners using the Curvy Corner Trio Punch.
